Using the Whova App

USING THE WHOVA APP

This year we will utilize Whova for our annual meeting app, which will provide access to a personalized schedule, networking opportunities, electronic voting, and more!

Once you’re registered for this year’s annual meeting, you can download the Whova app on your smartphone or tablet, or use the web version on your laptop.  

With Whova, you can preview exhibitor information before the Ministry Fair and connect with any you choose; contact other attendees to network or chat before, during, and after the event; add sessions to your personal agenda to build a customized schedule; and ask the event organizers any questions you may have.  

When registering through the Whova app, you MUST use the same email address that you used to register for this year’s annual meeting. Please check your inbox to see which email address your registration confirmation came to.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Download the Whova app.

Step 2: Create an account in Whova. You MUST use the same email address that you used when registering for this year’s meeting. Please check your email inbox to see which account received your confirmation email. If you need help finding out which email address to use, please email registration@bgav.org.

Step 3: Find the BGAV Annual Meeting event. If you have preregistered for this year’s meeting, your account should already be connected to the “2025 BGAV Annual Meeting” event. If not, you may search for it under the Events section of the app.

To find the Events section of the app, click on the circle with your first initial (located in the upper left corner of the app) and choose “Go to All Events” from the sidebar menu. This screen shows all events for which you are currently registered as well as a search function to find events.

Step 4: Begin exploring and building your schedule! The Whova app features many details of this year’s annual meeting, and we are still adding content every day so be sure to check it frequently for updates! You will be able to choose which gatherings and Learning Labs you plan to attend, view ministry fair exhibitor information, connect with other attendees, find lodging, view meeting resources, and more! 

During the annual meeting in November, utilize the app for livestream viewing and electronic voting during our main session times.

Whova (pronounced HOO vah) is the incredibly easy-to-use digital resource we use for annual meeting. It exists as both an app you can download on your phone or tablet and also a website app you can access from your laptop. So no matter what kind of digital tool you use, you can get Whova and use it on site at the event, from home if you’re not attending in person, or anywhere you have your device and want to access BGAV’s annual meeting.

To have the best experience and get the most up-to-date information about the schedule, sessions, and meeting locations, yes. To vote as a messenger from your church, yes. 

Yes, but with only the printed program guide, you won’t easily see or hear about schedule and room changes as they occur. And if you are a messenger and plan to vote in the business meetings but don’t use Whova, you’ll need to come to the registration desk to request paper ballots and have your registration status changed to reflect only in-person voting capability.

Whova is a fun tool that offers each attendee a personalized way to experience BGAV’s Annual Meeting. With it, you can select which sessions you want to attend (worship, Learning Labs, Insight Sessions, and special events) and add them to your own personal Agenda—and Whova will send you reminders and updates for the sessions you choose. You can view the list of registrants to contact within the app for meetups and networking, interact with exhibitors, find ways to share rides with other attendees, link to event hotels for lodging, and much more. You can even create your own polls and other interactive tools like icebreakers, if you so choose—to engage even further with other attendees and leaders at the event!
