Scot McKnight

Julius R. Mantey Chair of New Testament @ Northern Seminary

Dr. Scot McKnight is a world-renowned speaker, writer, professor and equipper of the Church. He is a recognized authority on the historical Jesus, early Christianity, and the New Testament. His blog, Jesus Creed, is a leading Christian blog. Dr. McKnight’s most recent books include Reading Romans Backwards and Pastor Paul.

A sought after speaker, he has been interviewed on several radio and television programs as well as spoken at numerous local churches, conferences, colleges, and seminaries in the United States and around the world. Scot McKnight is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature and the Society for New Testament Studies. McKnight’s books have been translated into Chinese, Korean, Russian, and Portuguese.

Scot will be speaking during Tuesday morning, Tuesday evening, and Wednesday morning’s main sessions. He will also be leading a breakout session during both times Tuesday afternoon.

Alia Abboud

Director of Development and Partner Relations @ Lebanese Society for Educational and Social Development

Dr. Alia Abboud is Director of Development and Partner Relations at the Lebanese Society for Educational and Social Development (LSESD). She joined LSESD in April 2003 following years of service with World Vision Lebanon as Communications Officer, and then Operations Manager.

Alia will be speaking during Monday evening’s Missions Monday program as well as Tuesday evening’s main session. She will also be helping lead the Partnership Missions breakout session on Tuesday afternoon.

Don Davidson

Pastor @ First Baptist Church, Alexandria, VA

Rev. Don Davidson is a native of Suffolk, VA. He received his BA degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and then his Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. He preached his first sermon at age 16 and was pastor of his first church, Worsham Baptist of Farmville, VA, at age 19. He later served churches in North Carolina and Florida, coming back to Virginia in 1989 to pastor Mount Hermon Church in Danville. He came to First Baptist Alexandria in October 2005. Don has served as president of the Baptist General Association of Virginia (2004), and as a trustee for the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (1995-2005). He has also served on the boards of Hopetree Family Services of Virginia and Guidestone Financial Resources (the Annuity Board of the SBC). His wife, Audrey, is from Keysville, Virginia, and has been involved in education all of her career. In 1999 she was appointed by the Governor to serve a term on Virginia’s State Board of Education. She is now a licensed realtor. Don and Audrey’s son, John Mark, is a graduate of UNC – Wilmington. He and his wife, Daniela, live in Austin, Texas.

Matt Thornhill

Futurist and Researcher @ SIR’s Institute for Tomorrow

Matt Thornhill is one of the founders of SIR’s Institute for Tomorrow think tank. He is a researcher, author, futurist, and provocateur. He helps leaders learn what’s coming and what to do about it today.

Matt will be presenting his research findings during Monday evening’s Missions Monday program.

Kristen White

Pastor @ Antioch Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA

Rev. Kristen White accepted the call to become the 45th pastor of Antioch Baptist Church in April 2018. Most recently, Kristen served as summer camp manager at CrossRoads Camp & Conference Center and associate pastor at First Baptist Church, Gretna. She earned her Master of Divinity from Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond and Bachelor of Arts from Mary Washington College (now University of Mary Washington). Ordained alongside her husband, Nathan, in 2010 at Virginia Heights Baptist Church (now Heights Community Church) in Roanoke, VA, the couple and their three young boys make their home in Clarksville.
