2020 is the Centennial Year (100th birthday!) for GraceInside (Virginia’s State Prison Chaplaincy Ministry). Virginia Baptists helped found GraceInside back in 1920, and we continue to partner with and support this vital ministry today. But some folks are asking: How does prison chaplaincy work during a pandemic?

Read about the latest updates from GraceInside during the pandemic in this article, “How Does Prison Chaplaincy Work During a Pandemic?”

At Campbell University Divinity School, our mission is to provide graduate theological education that is Christ-centered, Bible-based, and Ministry-focused. Our holistic approach to theological education integrates spiritual formation, academics, and practical ministry skills.

Community is very important to us and is one of the aspects that makes us who we are. Our student body is diverse in age, gender, ethnicity, and denomination. Our diversity enhances each student’s opportunities for growth and learning. In our diverse learning environment of people who are Christ-centered, Bible-based, and Ministry-focused, our students are provided an opportunity for meaningful discussion and the possibility of learning from one another, both in and out of the classroom.

We are committed to offering affordable theological education. On average, our master-level students receive 60% in scholarship assistance from the Divinity School. 100% of our Doctor of Ministry students receive scholarship assistance. Baptist World Alliance

In 2020, the global Baptist family celebrated the 100th anniversary of Baptist World Aid. Initiated a century ago in response to the Spanish flu pandemic, BWAid has been instrumental in providing much-needed aid, relief, and community development around the world.

With the world again facing a global pandemic, BWAid has responded this year with the distribution of 132 emergency grants that have impacted lives in more than 80 countries. In partnership with Virginia Baptists…

  • – Baptists in Mexico worked together to send medicine into remote areas with limited healthcare
  • – Baptists in the Democratic Republic of the Congo purchased their first radio airtime in order to broadcast messages of hope and help in Christ
  • – Baptists in Bangladesh built public handwashing stations outside of their churches in areas where up to 25 families share a single water tap
  • – Baptists in The Philippines provided extra support to students at the Baptist Theological Seminary in order to keep training and preparing for the future

Thank you for being a vital part of this global missional movement. To find out more about the Standing Together Global Response Plan or to learn about other ways the BWA is networking Baptists for global impact, please visit our website.
