Rev. Dr. C. Diane Mosby
In the matchless and marvelous wonder of your sovereignty we thank you for another day. Masterful creator in the midst of all that seems to be out of control in this world, we are comforted and inspired to know that “the earth and the fullness thereof belong to you”. (Psalm 24:1, ESV). With that assurance in mind we face this day with confidence that you are still in control.
We honor the gift of this day believing that you are forever working for the good of your creation. For we are reminded once again that “Your steadfast love never ceases, your mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23, ESV).
Therefore, we can have hope in you, Holy one, because you are our portion. (Lamentation 3:24). When we cannot see nor understand your reasoning, we can still trust your heart. Even in the midst of a pandemic, social unrest, and political uncertainty, the truth remains; you are still God. Your purposes shall be revealed at your appointed time and they shall prevail. (Proverbs 19:21, NIV)
Sovereign Lord, as we enter another Annual Session of the BGAV, lead and guide us this day into all truth, wisdom, knowledge and understanding. (Isaiah 11:2, ESV). Help us to honor you with our lives, our witness, and our testimony. Grant us divine favor that the lives we encounter on this day will be made better by our interaction and our exchange as we glorify you, and encourage one another.
This I pray in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.
